Ok so this might not interest many of you here but for some (males mostly) this will. In the early 1970 Bruce Brown, director of the popular surfing movie "Endless Summer," directed a feature length movie about Motorcycle racing called, "On Any Sunday." This film was a huge hit and even was nominated for an Oscar. Well his son Dana is making a feature length movie about the 2003 Baja 1000, due to release in July 2004. The trailer is large and will take a while to download so you might want to go to www.d2gfilm.com and download the low res one.

Enjoy...

It's supposed to be insane. Can't wait to see it. From what I hear it should blow the hell out of any other off-road movie made to date. The trailor is awesome!

Nothing can top "On Any Sunday." Watching Steve Mcqueen and Malcolm Smih race through the desert on old husky's is just a treat. Malcolm Smith is close to 70 now and the last time I rode with him I couldn't keep up. He is still very smooth on a dirtbike.

Yeah, I have some friends that ride occasionally with Mr. Smith. I met him once, one hell of a guy!

Yes, any given sunday is great movie, probaly one of the best, but this new one, should be something to talk about for years. finally, someone has taken the time to show the baja, in its entirety, which until now, has not been done.

either way, it should be something pretty cool to watch..

Any Given Sunday was about football, On Any Sunday was about motorcycle racing in the early 70's. Completely different movies.

It didn't show the first one, not sure how long it has gone on for but I think it started in the late 60's. The desert racing portion shows the areas that I currently race in. One of the clubs that is portrayed, The Invaders MC, with the story about the racing dog (John and Cookie) is the club that I am the president of right now. If you remember in the movie they show the start of a Barstow to Vegas race with a dead engine land rush start across a desert valley. It looks insane on the TV, well watching it live is crazy and actually sitting on the line and running one is one of the scariest and most exhilarating experiences I have ever felt.

I have heard a few different dates. I have heard November around the Baja 1000 race and also sometime the first quater of 2005. A few friends have seen a screening of it and said it was awesome but they still need to finish the end of the movie.
