I woke up hella early today, typical, I get up on weekends earlier than on weekdays! Anyhow, flipping the channels, I catch the beginning of Rocky on TNT. Man, this movie just never gets old. I've been watching this movie since I was 6 years old... I mean, does it really get any better?
This movie, especially in the fight at the end sends chills throuhg my body... the whole struggle of the underdog, the will to win, to be the best, I just can't think off hand of another movie that just gets the blood pumping, the emotion flowing like Rocky. I can only imagine this movie coming out in the theaters in the late 70's how great it must of seemed then!
Adding to this awesome storyline, Stallone gives his first and probably best performance of his life, Burgess Meredith (The Penguin from Batman) as his hard talking trainer Mick, and his beautiful girlfriend Adrian played by Talia Shire (The Godfather) who is played down to look really plain and shy, and her brother, that hatable Paulie played by Burt Young.
I think this is just one of those movies you have to see again. Gotta go, they're showing Rocky 2 now.
