Here is the movie trailor for those of you on high speed internet connections. It's in quicktime format, but you'll need winzip or something like that to extract it.
It's about 100 megs, so don't bother if you're on a dialup. hehe

THe trailer looks sick, but I think it is about the dumbest thing in the world releasing both sequels in a six month space. I mean they release reloaded next month, then revolutions in what...november? Not veyr smart from a marketing standpoint I think.
However, may is going to be huge. The X-Men sequel is on may 2nd, and then the matrix! Cinemastar is going to have all my money next month.[/updown]

I for one am glad about the sequels being released within 6 months of each other. I hate waiting 2 - 3 years for the rest of the story. i.e. Star Wars.

haarm-pieter is dutch, well his dad is anyway. how'd you get his berkeley work? i'll tell lars, rich. i mentioned this thing to him and i got no response, i think sometimes he'd prefer not to reconnect with his rather dismal high school years.

haha... i was in touch with Lars a few years ago, he was living back east somewhere. That was the last I've heard from him.

I am buying my tickets in a few hours, I feel like I have lagged a little. I had my tickets for X2 like four days in advance. I am looking forward to it.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is all I have to say. It was so farkin awsome. Damnit it ruled, I must let everyone know that it is a different movie, not the same as the first, different. But great none the less. You must come and see this film as soon as humanly possible. It rocks, talk about jesus and freaking moses imagery. and I think that the Warchoski brothers have a serious hard on for Grecian mythology. DOPE DOPE DOPE

Ya know, it is a different movie that is important to remember. Many people have said things about the dialogue, however the dialogue really wasn't that great in the first movie...so bear that in mind.

Keeping in mind that its sole intention was to "wow" the audience with its spectacular stunts and special effects, I only had one complaint. A couple of the fight scenes were just a little too over-the-top for my taste. They crossed the line (but only a little bit!) into the cheesy zone on a couple of occasions. Other then that, I think it was excellent

I thought it could have done without the rave scene in Zion, however, I thought the story line rocked. I didn't think you could top what they did in the first movie, but they did.

I agree with both sarah and nathan. I really thought they made this one with more of a broader audience in mind. There was more sex and more violence, which in most cases doesn't bother me. But I didn't think either furthered the plot in this case. I just expected more from this movie. It wasn't bad, and I'll definitely see the next one, but I just thought that it could have been better. I just get the feeling that they would have stuck Jar Jar Binks in it if he hadn't had bombed so bad in Star Wars.

I am going to go see it again on friday. I really enjoyed it, and yeah Nathan...the whole dance scene is Zion was unessicary (though the track that they played was sick), the sex scene between Trinity and Neo was equally unessecary, but ya know...once you get past that it worked well for me. I felt that Joel seigel's review was pretty accurate of the film and the direction they went really worked. I do reccomend to everyone though that you download "Final Flight of the Osiris" to get a better feel for this films beggining. It played on the opening of Dreamcatcher and gives you a good understanding of what is going on, they make a short referance to it in the first few minutes of the meeting hall scene, so check that out.

I saw the Matrix last night (sorry I missed the chat fest in here). Great movie!!!! A little too much religious prophecy stuff for my taste but still a great movie. Liked the whole freeway scene and the fight with the Smith's was way cool. The superman antics was a little over board though. Didn't like the whole Zion group meeting either.

I have to say that I liked the second one better then the first. I thought everything in the second one was better then the first except for the ending. I thought they could have at least had an actual ending, not a "to be continued" thing.

hey Savage. you know Lars too? I knew Lars in elementary school and Junior high in Anaheim. Ironically Lars and I moved out to the valley roughly the same time. I emailed him sometime back, heard that he is chef living in Providence.

thoughts...
I haven't watched it yet. Can't seem to find the right time or a sitter to watch my son so me and my g/f can go. I've been watching the 2nd one a few times to understand what The Architect is saying at the end, i think i finally got it. I was being distracted by the other images of neo. Of course the whole problem or point is choice that was layed out by The Oracle. Purpose was detailed by The Keymaker when he says that it was his purpose to get neo to the glowing door. I understand that Neo's purpose as The One was to re-enter the source with the new code and basically reset the whole system, Merogivan knew what was to happen. I am still trying to figure out what Seraph is and what he is protecting that matters most. Was Seraph "the one" in the previous Matrix? The fight between Seraph and Neo was to determine the Identity of The One (i think Seraph knew that agent smith was replicating himself). I noticed that Neo and Seraph glow more in code then others. I hope Revolutions answers my questions
Points that i got:
characters have a Purpose
there an option of Choice
There were other versions of the matrix
