Okay
So the rain did suck quite a bit, I will give you that. What made it worse was Lisa Franke's twenty minute speech that stopped making sense after about five minutes and then the fact that we had to sit in the rain. God that sucked ass. Oh well, Next year when I get my BA, we are graduating inside a auditorium.

excuse me, but in defense of my good friend lisa franke, her speech did make sense, it was damn funny and it was not 20 minutes long.

Rich Whitemyer
04-16-2003, 09:26 AM
hey carrie, speaking of lisa franke, is she still a cheerleader?

Carrie Dennington
04-16-2003, 11:18 AM
no longer a redskinnetter. she is back in california but charger tryouts are going on right now ... so we'll see ... i don't think she's trying out though!

lisafranke
04-16-2003, 11:20 AM
Thanks for the defense Carrie! I really didn't like standing in the rain having to give a damn speech anyway, so we were all miserable together.
No- not cheering anymore.

Carrie Dennington

lisa, have you heard from jimmy? he is signed on but i haven't heard from him since graduation. i wonder how he is?

Welcome to the board Lisa... I'll try not to scare you away.

Well... I could careless what team, but we have a cheerleader amongst us? wooohoo! :punk:

I remember this little girl starting West Valley many years ago, and twirling like crazy at a pep assembly (one of the few I attended... I was in awe).

Any interesting stories?

Soooo... you have a picture of you and your friends you wish to share? 8O Inquiring male minds want to know, I'm sure I speak for most of us walking hormones here.

Jason Braaten
04-16-2003, 12:43 PM
hey I did apologise. I don't know what much else to say, and to my defense. everything was poopy that night as we were getting rained on, so lisa once again I am sorry, no offense intended...I just don;t think I really look back on that evening with particular fondness.

lisafranke
04-16-2003, 02:01 PM
Jason- I really don't care. (I don't mean that in a mean way, you just don't have to keep apologizing)

And, yes I have pictures and stories, but I don't think I will post them. You can check out the redskins website, there are some old pictures in the cheerleader's behind the scenes photo gallery. I didn't cheer last season because I moved here last summer so I am not in the team photo.

hey lisa, you're cousins with Fred Franke aren't you? I was just curious what he ended up doing.

lisafranke
04-16-2003, 02:18 PM
He owns his own contracting company in San Diego. He is doing really well- works too hard though. I lived down the street from him, so my boyfriend and I hang out with him and his wife a lot (oh- he got married too).

Rich Whitemyer
04-16-2003, 02:30 PM
wow, a contractor huh? never would have guessed it. I figured him for a doctor or something. What about you? What brought you back across country?

lisafranke
04-16-2003, 02:43 PM
The weather. I am working as a defense contractor in San Diego (not like building stuff contracting)- but dealing with contracts and aquisitions for Navy procurements. I have only been here for 8 months so I am not really sure what I am doing yet. How about you?

Mandy Wilson
04-16-2003, 02:45 PM
Hello Lisa. Good to see a few more familiar names. I remember you as kinda shy in school....the fact you even tried out for NFL Cheerleading is pretty kick ass. I heard that auditions are cut throat. It Must have been great!

Rich Whitemyer
04-16-2003, 03:00 PM
defense contractor, pretty hefty stuff. Good business to be in these days I would guess. As for the weather, I was in northern Virginia in February and I didn't mind it all, but then again San Diego is in a league of its own - it really doesn't get any finer. How does one get into defense contracting? Did you serve?
I met a guy while I was back east the worked for Rumsfeld in the department of defense, is that the same group you're working for? I almost talked him into calling Rumsfeld and calling off the offensive. Well, actually I had to hit two fifteens on the dart board (cricket) and I would have won the bet. I choked and only hit one and off to war we went. Now people will understand why I take this whole thing so serious, seeing as I'm partly responsible.
Me? I'm back in Hemet doing graphic design and signage. Oh and I'm married and 5 months away from being a dadx2 (twins). So everybody buy their printing and POP signage from me - I need the money!

Mandy Wilson
04-16-2003, 03:23 PM
Lisa are you/were you in the Navy? Cheer-to-Navy procurements?

LOL there's a change!

What did you do after HS anyhow? College?

Richie...don't mention Rumsfeld again!...It's just too hard for me. LOL

NOT arrogant at all is he! LOL

Rich Whitemyer
04-16-2003, 03:40 PM
yeah, he bugs the shit out of me too. Don't you love how if doesn't like the question he ridicules the reporter then ignores them from then on. the message: if you want to be a whitehouse reporter don't ask any hard questions that may make Rumsfeld or the D.O.D. look bad. Hooray for journalism!

Jason Braaten

Ya know, these are the kinda things that are nice to know. THat someone went for greatness out of WVHS. I mean, I suppose I just have this idea that every school produces someone that has achieved something really limelightish from HS, just seeing where everyone went and what everyone achieved, it is really interesting. Well....I find that I feel I want to start saying somthing inspiraional, so I am going to jet. But as a general note kudos to all you good parents out there, and kudos to all of you that finished school, and kudos to everyone that is where they need and want to be.

Scott Huard
04-16-2003, 04:42 PM
Back to Savage's comment that a speech by me during graduation would have been slightly on the negative side of things...not so. Everyone knows that I had a real soft spot in my heart for WVHS. Loved that place. Besides, Chris Morris gave an absolutely amazing speech in my place.

Scott Huard
PS - You all believe me, right?? The sarcasm never ends.

Mandy Wilson
04-16-2003, 04:57 PM
Scott I'm sure your Speech wouls have brought a tear to my eye...sob. LOL

Jason makes me want to cry too his heart felt honesty has me craving comfort food. LOL

And last but not LEAST.

Rich...you hit that one about Rumsfelt on the head. I m impressed to see you knew that!

I't cracks me up when He (rumsfeld) gets asked a good Q from a reporter and he lashes out like it was inappropriate just because he didn't even know the anwser.LOL

BUT that's what our government get's when it allows President's to hire OLD FRIENDS. Rumsfeld was a CORPORATE MANAGER how the hell did he get into the White House?

LOL

hey mandy as much as i appreciate some support around here I'm not dragging the political crap into another thread. You can find pages of my rants elsewhere on this site.

Nice to see nothing's changed Scott. I don't remember a damn thing about graduation. I'm not sure who I sat next to or who gave the speeches. I remember a bit about the boat trip, but that's about it. The night before on the football field did a hell of a number on me, and I don't remember much of that either, although I'm told that I kicked Sarah Wisdom. whatever.

Nice to see you here on this website, I have many memories of you and your sister twirling for us and many pageantry videos , I'm sure you do too. Please do share more photos with us , I think it's great what you've done and you're almost at celebrity status compared to most alumni.hehe.

Mandy Wilson
04-16-2003, 06:29 PM

04-16-2003, 06:59 PM
Dude honestly I don't remember....I don't think so. I know I sure didn't get down with anyone FOR SURE!

I heard a little Sum'n Sum'n about TODD KINGHORN and a lady though. My lips are sealed. For some reason I am fortunate enough to get all the GOODS, but on a confidential basis only! Dam the luck.

Rich Whitemyer
04-16-2003, 07:17 PM
I heard that Todd cleaned up his act and went on a mission. any truth to that?

Mandy Wilson

I dunno...if so good for him. I haven't talked to Todd since 96. He was a great guy!

No I wasn't in the Navy, I really don't know how I got this job. I worked as a statistician for the Census Bureau after college, then moved back here, started as a temp doing software appliations and they hired me full time. I am really the only non military person here, and they have all this lingo I don't understand. Although, I have toured about 30 different military bases in the world performing in USO shows. We flew around in Blackhawks and C-130s, it was pretty cool.
Richie- I wish I knew you were in graphics and printing, I teach dance I just had my kids t-shirts printed up. Unless you don't do clothes. I will come to you for logos and flyers and stuff when I start my own studio.

Rich Whitemyer
04-17-2003, 11:24 AM
I don't really do tshirts myself but I know a real good guy out in Murrietta. Logos and flyers and banners and such are my thing. Kids, huh? Oh wait, I get it, the kids you teach. Wow, USO shows, how was that? Thousands of screaming men has to do wonders for the ego. I bet your boyfriend has a lot to deal with. ;) j/k Let me know if you need any help with anything.
